Celtic star Odsonne Edouard should end up at Manchester United or Arsenal - Kris Boyd
The Frenchman has been in fine form for the Scottish Champions.
Odsonne Edouard shouldn’t leave Celtic for the Premier League unless one of the big clubs come calling, according to former Rangers striker Kris Boyd.
Edouard has been in fine form for the Glasgow club this season, scoring nine goals and providing five assists in 17 appearances.
The Frenchman was in similar goal-scoring form last season, in which he found the back of the net 22 times in 52 appearances.
Edouard’s exploits have reportedly seen him attract interest from several Premier League clubs.
Boyd isn’t surprised by the reported interest in the Hoops’ star man but believes the 21-year-old should stay put until the likes of Manchester United or Arsenal come calling.
He told the Scottish Sun: “For what it’s worth, if it’s the Premier League he heads for, it should be for one of the giants, Manchester United or Arsenal, and not, with respect, to a Brighton or Southampton.
“But I’ve got a funny feeling he’ll have to go and prove himself first at one of those clubs.”
Celtic boss Neil Lennon is keen to retain Edouard’s services and has no intention of cashing in on him in the January transfer window.

“There’s no chance of him leaving in January. Absolutely not,” Lennon said of Edouard. “We’ve got too much to do here.
"He is a class player and is pivotal to us.”
Lennon insists Celtic’s lack of European football won’t force them to part company with the former Toulouse man, adding: “We may or may not be in Europe after January, so that’s even more reason for him not to go.
“It wouldn’t hinge on that, absolutely not, but it would be a nice carrot for him, a reason to settle himself.
“I don’t like watching him playing for other teams. When I heard about his hat-trick, I was like, ‘Oh no!’
“But, seriously, it is great for the profile of the club and I think it is fantastic for him that he is playing so well for club and country.
“He will be linked with everybody in the next couple of weeks and come the end of January, but we are in no position to sell.
“Speaking to his representatives, they’re really happy with the way things are going, as well.
"So long may that continue and he’s a real cool customer.
“I think he’ll leave it to other people to worry about who is interested, if that comes up.
“He’s been outstanding this season in all the games. He’s playing, he looks happy, his all-round game is coming on and his goals now are starting to be something else.
“He is in good condition and he is ready to play.”
