Rangers boss Steven Gerrard warned of Young Boys threat before Europa League tie
Rangers need to be wary of Young Boys on Thursday despite their five game winning streak according to Charlie Nicolas.
Rangers take on Young Boys after a narrow 1-0 win in their opening group game against Feyenoord.
Steven Gerrard is keen to go far in the competition after their group stage exit last term, and a win would put them in pole position.
However, Charlie Nicolas has warned that their opponents are no strangers to taking on British sides, having played Everton and Manchester United over the past five years.
He told Sky Sports: ”Young Boys have always been a team that can take a scalp or two.
"Rangers have responded well to their tame performance against Celtic a few weeks back.
“It was a statement of intent at the weekend as they hammered Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership.
“Steven Gerrard's players are taking his points on board.
“He wants to play with speed, aggression - how he played.”
Although the Light Blues are used to dominating their Premiership opponents, with the exception of Celtic, they might be in for a shock at the Stade de Suisse, with the regning Swiss champions aiming to take all three points.
He added: ”Rangers are not a bad side but they will only be getting 45-50 per cent of the ball as opposed to the 70 per cent they get in Scotland.
“Rangers are in a good place and this result would mean an amazing start for them in the competition."
In other Rangers news, David Moyes has given his thoughts on how they and Celtic would fare in the Premier League.
He said: “Celtic, for the people who don't know Celtic, are a really proud club with supporters worldwide.
"Arguably one of the biggest clubs in the world Celtic.
"And I think, if they were in the Premier League - like Glasgow Rangers - they'd be certainly mid-table if not better because of their support base, once they got the funding."
