Wolves team news: Predicted 3-5-2 line up vs Besiktas – Jota out, three changes expected
Wolves continue to be without Diogo Jota as they continue their Europa League campaign away at Besiktas tonight (5.55pm BST).
Nuno Espirito Santo is expected to shuffle his squad as Wolves look to get off the mark in the Europa League group stages against Besiktas.
The Black Country side finally notched their first Premier League win of the season at the weekend, seeing off struggling Watford 2-0 at Molineux.
Matt Doherty’s strike and an own-goal from Daryl Janmaat were enough to seal the points for Wolves, but the victory does little to disguise a tough start to the season.
The Molineux club are currently 13th in the Premier League and fell to a disappointing 1-0 defeat at home to Braga in their opening Europa League group game.
And Santo will be without Jota for the trip to turkey as they Portuguese attacker struggles with a foot injury.
His replacement Pedro Neto appeared to be forced off with a problem against Wolves while youngster Bruno Jordao is also on the treatment table.
Summer signing Patrick Cutrone is expected to benefit from Jota’s absence, coming in to partner Raul Jimenez in attack.
A slight shift in formation could see Adama Traore drop to the bench as Ruben Neves returns to midfield, having appeared as a substitute against the Hornets.
The playmaker should start alongside Joao Moutinho and Leander Dendoncker, although the versatile Romain Saiss is another option in the engine room.
Saiss lined up as part of a back three against Watford but either Ryan Bennett or Jesus Vallejo are likely to get the nod alongside Conor Coady and Willy Boly.
Meanwhile, Doherty and Jonny should continue in the full-back roles with Traore, Ruben Vinagre and Morgan Gibbs-White on the bench.
As for Besiktas, they will have Mohamed Elneny and Adem Ljajic available after domestic suspensions but Victor Ruiz is a doubt.
