Philippe Coutinho: Things didn't work out at Barcelona
Bayern completed the signed of Barcelona forward Philippe Coutinho on a season-long loan earlier this week.
Barca said the Bundesliga side will pay a loan fee of €8.5million (£7.78m) while the option to buy the 27-year-old stands at €120m (£109.84m).
"In Barcelona a lot of things did not turn out as we had imagined," Coutinho said at his official presentation.
"But this is now history. I hope to stay here a long time and win many titles."
Philippe Coutinho wages
Coutinho joined Barcelona from Liverpool in January 2018 for a £142million fee.
The Brazilian signed a five-and-a-half-year contract at the Nou Camp.
According to Marca, the player takes home an annual salary of €13.5m (£12.4m). That works out at approximately £240,000 per week.
Barcelona confirmed that Bayern will pay Coutinho’s wages for the duration of his loan spell.
Philippe Coutinho career
Coutinho came through the youth ranks at Vasco da Gama in his native Brazil.
He was signed by Inter Milan in the summer of 2008 for €4m before being loaned back to the Brazilian club for another two seasons.
He made his official debut for Inter in August 2010.
After a brief loan spell with Espanyol during the 2011/12 season, Coutinho went on to join Liverpool in January 2013 for an £8.5m fee.
The forward joined current club Barcelona five years later.
