And Shaqiri has spoken out on his frustrations and suggested he may be looking for a way out of Liverpool.
Shaqiri told Swiss newspaper Langenthaler Tagblatt : "I'm disappointed that I did not play anymore.
“Nobody likes to sit on the bench. It's clear that I want more time.
“I have to look at the situation and find a solution."
Liverpool have won their first two Premier League matches this season.

They were 2-1 winners over Southampton on Saturday with Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino netting the goals.
And Tim Sherwood believes Klopp needs his midfield to provide more goals if his team is to beat Manchester City to the title this season.
Sherwood said: “They’ve maintained their form, they’re a good threesome up there, they’ve got good balance.
“They’ve got good players in behind them, [Alex] Oxlade-Chamberlain is going to be huge.
“Maybe he can make more forward runs, get more goals from the midfield area where I think they need to add goals. They are weak in that area.

“They lost [Daniel] Sturridge, he was someone who could come in and play bit part.
“Shaqiri might have to step up to the plate, offer them more goals.
“Origi is a new man, he was the forgotten man but he come in and was excellent at the end of last season, scored some really important goals for them at important times.
“He could be a difference. He’s still a young man, still developing and he’s with a very good manager.”
