Man Utd net spend: How much did Man Utd spend during the transfer window?
MANCHESTER UNITED were relatively busy in the transfer window this summer, but how much did they end up spending in total?
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made three new additions to his squad, which ended the 2018-19 season in sixth place.
The Norwegian acquired the services of Daniel James, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and England international Harry Maguire.
James, 21, was brought in from Championship side Swansea City for a fee of £18million.
Wan-Bissaka, meanwhile, was signed from Crystal Palace for a whopping £50million.
Factoring in the sale of Romelu Lukaku, Manchester United have spent a total of £75million this summer
And Maguire, the last of Solskjaer’s summer additions, was acquired from Leicester City for a world-record fee of £80million.
Excluding the trio’s wages, United have spent a total of £148million bolstering their squad.
However, one of their outgoings this window has massively offset their outlay this summer.
On Thursday afternoon, United parted company with Belgium international Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku has joined Italian giants Inter Milan for an initial fee of £58.5million, though that figure is set to rise to £73million.
So factoring in the sale of the former Chelsea man, Manchester United have spent a total of £75million this summer.
Manchester United kick off their Premier League campaign on Sunday afternoon, welcoming last season’s Europa League winners Chelsea to Old Trafford.
