Newcastle: Steve Bruce ‘delighted’ with Joelinton signing
Newcastle are interested in signing Everton’s McCarthy, as the Toffees try to find a buyer for the midfielder.
Bruce is looking to ring the changes at St James’ Park, and has been linked to a number of players since he arrived.

Everton boss Marco Silva is trying to find a new club for James McCarthy
McCarthy has had a torrid time with injuries over the past few years, and now has just one year left on his contract.
Everton boss Marco Silva is trying to find a new club for the Republic of Ireland international.
McCarthy has made just five Premier League appearances in the past two seasons after a series of setbacks.
He was ruled out for 11 months last year after breaking his leg in two places.
That leg break came just one month after he was on the sidelines for nine months with a couple of hamstring injuries and a knee problem.
McCarthy was fit to play from the middle of January last season, but only made the match day squad in six of the Toffees’ remaining Premier League matches.
He made just a single 14-minute came against Manchester United in April during the 2018/2019 campaign.
After his continuous set backs at Goodison Park, it’s believed that the midfielder is looking for a way out of the club in order to get his career back on track.
The 28-year-old has spent six years on Merseyside after Everton bought him from Wigan for £14m in 2013.
He’s since made 133 appearances for the club, scoring six goals and recording 10 assists.
Meanwhile, Newcastle have also been linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain left-back Stanley N’Soki.
The Magpies have reportedly made a £7m bid for the 20-year-old, and the starlet is keen to move to the Premier League.
