Scott McTominay makes encouraging Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claim that will excite Man Utd fans
MANCHESTER UNITED star Scott McTominay believes his team-mates are buying into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s pre-season plan.
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been running his players around and training them hard ahead of the new season and McTominay thinks it is “perfect” preparation.
This is the first pre-season Solskjaer has overseen after coming back to the club at interim manager in January to replace Jose Mourinho.
The Norwegian has looked to strengthen his squad this summer, with an emphasis of adding younger players to his first-team, as he aims to improve on last season’s sixth place in the Premier League.
And McTominay, who played 22 games for United last season, feels the pre-season results are showing the work the players and staff are putting in on the training ground.
I think you can see from the results and the way that we're playing now that it's going to plan
“The running, the training hard is perfect,” he said.
“But it's the details that we're trying to get right this pre-season.
“I think you can see from the results and the way that we're playing now that it's going to plan.
“There are things we need to work on and aspects of our game that each individual player has to work on as well.

“It's important that we knuckle down and listen to the coaching staff and take what we can from the games, the training that we've got and the meetings.
“It's important we take all that information on board because it's an important season.
“We've got a good team here and it's important we get things right in pre-season.”
Last season saw McTominay playing more games in a United shirt than ever before and the Scotland international could well be on his way to becoming a key member of Solskjaer’s midfielder in the upcoming campaign.

That is because central midfielder Ander Herrera left Old Trafford to join Paris Saint-Germain after his contract expired at the end of June.
Despite the prospect of more games on the horizon for McTominay, the 22-year-old insists there is only one goal for next season and that is to return to the top of the league.
“That's the sole aim of the football club - to get it back to where we want to be,” he added.
“That's the top of the league and it's important we get there.”
