Liverpool relieved over Bruno Fernandes transfer as Sporting chiefs travel to Manchester
LIVERPOOL are said to be relieved that Sporting Lisbon officials flew in to Manchester for business other than Bruno Fernandes moving to their arch-rivals.
But the Manchester Evening News claim chiefs from the Portuguese club were meeting with Premier League champions Manchester City over a possible link between them.
Liverpool fans will be relieved as a result as the possible signing of Fernandes is still on.
The Liverpool Echo report City are in talks over 18-year-old Sporting winger Felix Correia, but have not discussed Fernandes.
Jurgen Klopp is not expected to make major changes to his squad after winning the Champions League last season.
And the Reds will look to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League again following a heartbreaking loss by a single point.

Meanwhile, Sporting president Frederico Varandas recently admitted that any Fernandes exit would be for a club-record sale.
“It could be the most expensive sale of Sporting,” he said.
“The most expensive so far was João Mário, for €40m (£36m).
“There have been only talks for Bruno Fernandes, for now.
“I can only say that if a player leaves that can earn us millions, we will be prepared to attack the market.
