Man Utd target Bruno Fernandes pulled out of friendly: Paul Pogba transfer holds key
MANCHESTER UNITED transfer target Bruno Fernandes has been pulled out of Sporting Lisbon’s pre-season friendly tomorrow ahead of his proposed move to Old Trafford. But Paul Pogba’s move to Real Madrid could be holding up the signing.
Man United: Bruno Fernandes is a ‘complicated deal’ says pundit
Manchester United target Bruno Fernandes won’t be playing in Sporting’s pre-season friendly against FC Rapperswil-Jona tomorrow, according to Correio da Manhã.
The Portugal international won’t be risked against the Swiss side tomorrow evening, in case he picks up an injury that threatens his transfer to United.
Sporting are keen to finalise the deal, as it would almost certainly be the biggest sale in their history. But they won’t sell Fernandes for a cut-price deal.
Even still, the deal is unlikely to progress any further until United come to a decision about Pogba.
United are still keeping an eye on Bruno Fernandes
United are still keeping an eye on Bruno Fernandes, amid reports the club and player have agreed personal terms.
But, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still talking to Real Madrid about a big money move for Pogba.
Until the club come to a decision on whether they’re selling the French World Cup-winner or not, the transfer for Fernandes will stall, it added.
Fernandes has reportedly met with his agent to discuss his future at Sporting.
Meanwhile, Pogba travelled with the United squad on their pre-season tour of Australia and the Far East.
The midfielder has revealed his desire to find a new challenge, after a turbulent time at Old Trafford since his arrival in 2016.
Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, has urged United to let his client leave the club, amid interest from Real Madrid and Juventus.
“The player [Pogba] has done nothing wrong,” Raiola told talkSPORT.
“He has been respectful and professional in every way and always. he club has known his feeling for a long time.
“It is a shame other people only like to criticise without the right information, and I am also sorry that the club does not take any position against this.
“Hopefully there will be soon a satisfying solution for all parties.”
Pogba has made 92 appearances for the club in his second spell at United, scoring 24 goals.
