Champions League: Klopp reacts to Liverpool winning the title
Liverpool booked their place the Super Cup by claiming the Champions League trophy with a 2-0 win over Tottenham earlier this month.
Chelsea, meanwhile, beat Arsenal in the Europa League final to secure a spot in the final, which will take place at the Vodafone Park in Istanbul on August 14.
If the pair’s clashes last season are anything to go by, the game will a thoroughly entertaining affair.
However, Chelsea will be somewhat hindered in their bid to be crowned the best club side in Europe.
That’s because they’ll have less time to recover for the match after their opening game of the season, which will see them take on Manchester United on Sunday, August 11.
Liverpool, however, will have the benefit of an extra two days rest ahead of their clash with the Blues as they kick off their season against Norwich City on Friday, August 9.
That extra recuperation time could prove to be critical in the Reds' pursuit of further European glory.
Whoever is in charge of Chelsea next season will almost certainly not be happy with their side’s quick turnaround for the match, which will give the club the opportunity to win their second Super Cup.
