Maurizio Sarri to leave Chelsea THIS WEEK for Juventus - Julien Laurens
JUVENTUS will announce the appointment of Maurizio Sarri as their new manager in “a matter of days”.
Chelsea: Sarri to go to Juventus 'in matter of days' says pundit
That is according to European football expert and ESPN FC pundit Julien Laurens.
Sarri has reportedly told Chelsea he wants to leave the club and return to Italy.
He is the overwhelming favourite to take over at Juventus following the departure of Massimiliano Allegri.
Sarri only became the Chelsea head coach last summer and had a successful first season at the club.
I really believe it’s just a matter of days now before they announce it
The Italian led the Blues to Europa League glory as well as a third-placed finish in the Premier League and the final of the Carabao Cup.
However, not Chelsea every supporter has warmed to Sarri since his arrival.
Lauren says Sarri’s agent has already had meetings with Juventus chiefs over the manager’s job.
And he claims it will not be long before the deal is announced.
“I think it will happen,” Laurens said on Tuesday.
“There’s a €5million release clause in his contract for Juve to pay to be able to get him, like Chelsea played Napoli to get him a year ago as well.
“So it’s not unusual even more managers to have something like that in their contract.
“I think it’s just a matter of time for the two clubs to agree, for Sarri and Juventus as well to agree.
“His agent has had many meetings with Juventus.
“I really believe it’s just a matter of days now before they announce it.”
