Ahead of the fixture, Savage claimed that he couldn’t understand why Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri was fighting for his job when Unai Emery is being praised for driving Asrenal in the right direction.
He told the Mirror: “Double standards never look pretty, and I can’t understand why Maurizio Sarri is allegedly fighting to save his job but Unai Emery is safe.
"Both have done well, improved their clubs’ fortunes this season and neither should be in danger.
“Sarri has guided Chelsea to two cup finals and back into the Champions League mainstream by finishing third, in his first season at Stamford Bridge.

“But if you listen to all the speculation, which I find disrespectful, he is likely to be gone after Wednesday’s Europa League Final against Arsenal in faraway Baku.
“Emery, meanwhile, does not appear to be at any risk — even though his Gunners must win that game in Azerbaijan to get back in the Champions League after finishing fifth in the Premier League.
“I cannot understand the two-speed conversation around Sarri and Emery’s jobs.
“I might be adding fuel to the fire with this column, but I find the speculation around Sarri distasteful and disrespectful.”
