Newcastle takeover 'smells like it will happen' says expert
Newcastle owner Ashley is in talks with Khaled over a takeover, with the Dubai-based billionaire eager to spend £350million on the club.
There is uncertainty surrounding the deal, though, despite Khaled coming forward with his intentions.
There is also question marks over the future of manager Benitez, whose contract expires in just one month’s time.
The Sun say that Benitez is seeking clarification over his future, with the Spaniard willing to stay put after three successful years at the club so far.

Meanwhile, Benitez recently lauded his two years in the Premier League with the Toon.
But he also refused to open up about his future.
“It has been a great achievement by all involved. As everyone can see, the Premier League is a difficult league with a high competitive level,” he said.
“That is why we all have to feel satisfied with what we have achieved over the last two years.
“Balance is key and to get the most out of your players, whether you want to win the Champions League or stay in the division.
“It depends on the way that someone has chosen to play, one way or another.
