Brown turns to Zamora
HULL have stepped up their bid to sign Fulham’s Bobby Zamora in a £4million deal after being snubbed by Fraizer Campbell.
Campbell looks poised to join Sunderland after they had a £6m bid for him accepted by Manchester United.
Yet the Tigers had the same offer accepted weeks ago and even agreed personal terms. An angry manager Phil Brown said: “There are substantial bids on the table for four players, one being Fraizer Campbell and the other being Bobby Zamora. But I’m disappointed with Campbell. I took a phone call from Sir Alex [Ferguson] and he was apologetic that the player had not come to us.
“He firmly believed this was the right club for Fraizer but he’s obviously getting advice from somewhere else.”
