Tottenham news: Sheringham reveals why Pochettino does NOT need to start Kane vs Liverpool
TOTTENHAM do not need to start Harry Kane in the Champions League final - wielding him as a substitute is enough of a threat.

That is according to former Spurs striker Teddy Sheringham.
Kane has not played since April 9 in Tottenham’s quarter-final first-leg win over Manchester City.
The striker suffered ankle ligament damage during the match in a coming together with Fabian Delph, reigniting previous damage to his left foot.
Progress was visible in the side’s semi-final triumph over Ajax when Kane ran onto the pitch at full-time to celebrate a dramatic comeback, but the England captain was quick to point out he had only been sprinting in straight lines.
[It would be good] to have him on the bench and say: ‘Look, we can put him on for half an hour.'
Mauricio Pochettino has remained coy over the fitness of his star pupil, who has eight further days to recover until the final against Liverpool in Madrid.
Sheringham, who scored for Manchester United in the iconic 1999 Champions League final against Bayern Munich, believes it is not pivotal that Kane starts at Wanda Metropolitano, though.
“I think [it would be good] to have him on the bench and to just look around and say: ‘Look, we can put him on for half an hour,’” Sheringham told Sky Sports.
“He’s got another, what is it, 10 days still to get ready for it. That’s a long time in the process of healing.
“There’s a lot of work going into that as well, making sure all the ligaments around his ankle are getting stronger day by day.
“I’m sure they’re keeping him in cotton wool at the moment so he doesn’t go over on it again.
“I wish him well. It’s a massive game. You never know when it’s your last final.
Spurs: Pochettino refuses to answer question about Harry Kane
“So let’s hope he’s involved and play a big part.”
If Kane does return to match fitness in time, he will join his England team-mates shortly afterwards, as they prepare for the Nations League finals in Portugal.
England face The Netherlands on June 6 before taking part in either the third-place play-off or final on June 9.
