Rangers will end the season without a trophy after slipping out of contention in the league, but Tavernier has revealed two ways that they can catch Celtic next season.
Tavernier, 27, who scored twice in the 2-0 win over Aberdeen on Sunday, believes that by continuing to listen to management and taking inspiration from Liverpool and Manchester City, they could reach the summit next year.
He said: “The last four performances have put us in a really good position for next season.
“If we can continue to apply ourselves and keep listening to the management team and the way they want us to play then we should have a really good chance.”
The Gers have been in a good run of form since losing to Celtic at the end of March, winning four games in succession.
Gerrard has bemoaned his side’s inconsistency as the reason for their trophyless season, and Tavernier has urged his team-mates to look below the border for inspiration.
He added: “You have seen it in the English Premier League, Manchester City and Liverpool have been terrific all season.
“That is what it takes to win a league, you can’t have any speed bumps during a season because it will cost you.

“We need to be more consistent and make sure that doesn’t happen next season.
“We just need to win games. The gaffer said it was all about three points and that’s our aim until the end of the season.”
The win over Aberdeen puts Rangers nine points behind Celtic with three games remaining.
The inevitable title will be the Hoops’ eighth in a row, something that Tavernier is keen to put right next year.
