MANCHESTER UNITED boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has lost trust in some of his playing squad, claims Gary Neville.
Man United v Chelsea: Premier League match preview
Solskjaer has seen his Manchester United side lose seven of their last nine matches in all competitions.
That run comes after a fine first few months in charge of the Red Devils for the Norwegian.
United have lost their last three against Barcelona, Everton and rivals Manchester City without scoring a goal.
Neville says the visit of Chelsea on Sunday is a must-win for his former side.
I think Ole is now trying to rebuild his trust in some of those players
And he says the players need to rebuild faith from their manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
“Absolutely, they have to win today,” Gary Neville said on Sky Sports.
“I think that, to be fair, this week’s been a tough week in more ways than one.
“Last Sunday [against Everton] was a real difficult one for him because I think he saw it coming.
“In in his press conference before the game he called for a reality check.
“Wednesday night [against City], I think that’s as good as United have got.
“I genuinely think all those players left everything out on that pitch on Wednesday but they were just worn down in the end by a far better team.
“The gulf in class and quality became apparent.
“I think that’s what they are, that’s what they are.
Solskjaer: David De Gea is 'best player Man United ever had'
“They caused a lot more problems for City in that first half than many teams have done.
“Today, they’ve got to perform.
“I think Ole is now trying to rebuild his trust in some of those players having probably lost it in the last eight or nine matches.
“They’re in a rut, a real serious rut.”
