Famous five for Fernando
FERNANDO TORRES predicts it will be the ‘Big Five’ in the Premier League title race next season with big-spenders Manchester City joining the established top four.
Liverpool striker Torres concedes the Reds do not have the funds to compete for the most expensive signings with City, champions Manchester United and FA Cup winners Chelsea.
But he said: “I’m sure United and Chelsea will be our main rivals but you can’t leave Arsenal or Manchester City out of the equation.
“City are putting together a strong team with good signings.
“United have yet to sign players with the money they received from the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo, but he will be sorely missed along with Carlos Tevez.
“We will have to wait and see which players they bring in.
“The Premier League is Liverpool’s main goal for next season. We are going to set our sights on the title, and this time we are going to try to be more clinical at home against the so-called weaker teams.
“Last season they caused us some grief at Anfield.”
Torres is now looking forward to a holiday after the Confederations Cup in South Africa.
He and his Spain team-mates took third place in a disappointing finish for the winners of the European Championship last year.
