Fantasy Premier League tips: Last-minute transfers, bargains, captain picks for FPL GW33
FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE managers have just a couple of hours to reshuffle their squads ahead of a problematic GW33.
There are just six fixtures in a reduced Gameweek 33 as the FA Cup semi-finals play havoc with the Premier League schedule.
Manchester United, Tottenham and Manchester City are all without a top-flight game so the attention turns instead to Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea.
The Reds get the action started with a tricky away trip to Southampton tonight, meaning FPL bosses need to be aware about today’s 7pm transfer deadline.
Bournemouth and Leicester assets will hopefully secure big scores while the outcome of Newcastle’s home clash with Crystal Palace could have a huge impact on overall points hauls – so who will you sign and sell?
Top FPL transfer tips
DEF: Emerson Palmieri (Chelsea) – £5.2m
Marcos Alonso is an injury doubt after the narrow win over Cardiff and Maurizio Sarri rates Palmieri as a like-for-like swap.
Much cheaper than the regular Blues backline.
MID: Ryan Fraser (Bournemouth) – £6.2m
Likely to be in-demand this week with Bournemouth hosting Burnley ahead of a comfortable run-in.
ST: Jamie Vardy (Leicester City) – £9.1m
Sergio Aguero's injury has seen managers jettison the Argentine with Vardy identified as a solid alternative.
Goals should come against Huddersfield and Newcastle but don’t keep him long-term with a killer run-in to come.
In-form FPL players
DEF: Wes Morgan (Leicester City – £4.5m) – 8.3 form
Consecutive goals as well as a clean sheet last time out against Bournemouth have seen Morgan earn double-figure points hauls in his last two matches.
FWD: Roberto Firmino (Liverpool – £9.3m) – 8.7 form
The Liverpool striker has had a low-key season but three goals and an assist in his last three games shows Firmino is on a hot streak.
MID: Sadio Mane (Liverpool – £10.1m) – 9.7 form
Mane has now scored 17 Premier League goals this season with his form since Christmas helping fire the Reds into title contention.
Best-value FPL bargains
DEF: Yan Valery (Southampton – £4.1m) – 1.6 value
The young right-back has established himself as first-choice at St Mary’s and his bargain price tag means the Saints ace represents excellent value for money.
GKP: Bernd Leno (Arsenal – £4.8m) – 1.6 value
Clean sheets against Manchester United and Newcastle have seen the German’s value increase as his overall points total edges towards 100.
DEF: Wes Morgan (Leicester City – £4.5m) – 1.8 value
As mentioned, Morgan’s goalscoring exploits have caught the eye recently and his price has gone up to reflect investment, but the Jamaican is still a cheap asset.

Who should I captain in FPL GW33?
Callum Wilson (Bournemouth) vs Burnley (H)
The England striker is in something of a rut with just one goal in his past nine Premier League matches.
However, Bournemouth will hope Wilson can rediscover his lethal instinct when Burnley visit the Vitality Stadium and brave FPL managers with nothing to lose could hand him the armband.
Sadio Mane (Liverpool) vs Southampton (A)
The man in form right now and will be desperate to impress against his former side.
Team-mate Mohamed Salah offers a strong alternative, but Mane is likely to be the more fancied Reds star against Southampton.
TOP CHOICE – Eden Hazard (Chelsea) vs West Ham United (H)
Left on the bench until late on against Cardiff but back in the starting line-up for the win over Brighton, providing a goal and an assist.
West Ham were poor last time out against Everton and Hazard could rip them to shreds.
