Rangers have made NO progress under Gerrard - Sutton looks at Celtic and launches attack
RANGERS have made NO progress under Steven Gerrard this season, claims former Celtic striker Chris Sutton.
Rangers haven't made progress under Gerrard claims Sutton
Rangers are second in the Scottish Premiership table and saw their slim title hopes dashed by Celtic in the Old Firm on Sunday.
Ten-man Gers went down 2-1 at Celtic Park after a late James Forrest goal took the points for Neil Lennon’s side.
Gerrard has also not been able to bring success in the cup competitions.
Rangers lost to Aberdeen in the Scottish League Cup semi-finals last October and were knocked out of the Scottish Cup by the same opposition earlier this month.
So all this nonsense ‘Steven Gerrard has made progress’ - he’s 13 points behind Celtic
Sutton also pointed out ahead of Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Hearts how Rangers have not beaten either Kilmarnock or Hibernian in the league this season.
The always outspoken BT Sport pundit says it is nonsense to say Gerrard has improved Rangers.
And he says the results on the pitch prove his point, with Celtic effectively champions already.
“Let me tell you, Rangers haven’t made progress this season,” Sutton said.
“We’ll here everybody banging on about it.
“They’ve lost three time to Aberdeen, Kilmarnock have been better than them in the league.
“I think they’ve, Kilmarnock, beaten them and drawn twice, Rangers haven’t beaten Hibs.

“They’re out of the cup competitions.
“I’ve never heard so much waffle.”
