Man Utd star Ander Herrera 'AGREES' to join PSG after contract dispute
MANCHESTER UNITED midfielder Ander Herrera has agreed to join Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.
Man Utd: Herrera could fill Rabiot void at PSG says Hislop
That is according to reports from the Daily Record.
Herrera had engaged in drawn-out contract negotiations with Old Trafford executives, but they would not grant the wage demands of the Spaniard.
The midfielder's contract was due to run out in June and will leave on a free transfer.
Herrera was reportedly "unimpressed" by Manchester United's stalling over a new long-term deal given his dedicated service to the club since 2014.
Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward activate a clause in the 29-year-old's contract last season which kept him for another year, but the player has now been deemed dispensable as the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer era begins.
PSG have come in for Herrera after concerns their midfield is lacking depth under Thomas Tuchel.
Adrien Rabiot has fallen by the wayside this season while the French champions have lost out on hot prospect Frenkie de Jong to Barcelona in January.
Man United: Solskjaer sends warning to ‘complacent’ players
It is currently unclear the nature of Herrera's reported contract with PSG.
“It's logical when you have three months left on your contract and it is the international break," he told Spanish publication El Periodico. "I knew something would come out. I take it with a pinch of salt.
“I’m focusing on playing football in the remaining month and a half of the season.
"The rest I leave to my agent, both a possible contract renewal with United and talks with another club about my departure.
"I'm not going crazy about what is going to happen over the next four months because I don't know if my stay here is over.
"I enjoy being at the biggest club in England, the fans love me, they have treated me phenomenally. I owe it to them to listen to what they say, but honestly I don't know what is going to happen.
"All I see is trying to win against Watford next week. If you deserve things and if you are an honest and hard-working person, things happen."
