Many feared the hard-working forward may have played his last game for the club, with Welbeck’s contract expiring in June.
Injuries have blighted his stay in north London since arriving from Manchester United in 2014, but the Englishman has been pictured back in training while in Dubai, with hopes that he will play again this season.

The Emirates faithful do not want to see the 28-year-old depart, though, and many of them made that clear to Arsenal’s official Twitter page.
In two posts on Friday - one a video and one a picture - Welbeck was seen recuperating in the Middle East.
And there was a consistent theme in the replies, with one user demanding: “PLEASE EXTEND HIS CONTRACT.”
“Welbzzzz [firework emoji] need him to stay,” another said, while one opined: “He is a very useful squad player. Needs a new deal pls.”

Welbeck, who occasionally goes by the moniker of ‘Dat Guy’, garnered much love in the mentions.
“Just extend his contract were not gonna find a better player who is as versatile and willing to play behind 2 other strikers. Love Dat Guy,” one supporter wrote.
Some feel his return would be like a new player arriving, with one posting: “Danny! A recovery means a new signing!!!!!!!!!!”
“Announce new signing Danny,” typed another.
Meanwhile, some took the more polite route, simply asking: “Can we keep him?”
