Arsenal news: ‘Criminal’ transfer decision SLAMMED by former Gunners star
ARSENAL’S decision to let Aaron Ramsey leave for free this summer is criminal, ex-Gunners ace Jeremie Aliadiere claims.
Wales international Ramsey will join Juventus this summer.
Ramsey, 28, is set to earn a staggering £400,000-a-week alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in Serie A.
Arsenal offered Ramsey a new contract, however, the Gunners withdrew their proposal after negotiations stalled.
The Gunners are renowned for letting player contracts run down, with Arsenal having the same problems with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
And just losing a player like this on a free, for me, is criminal
And former Gunners ace Aliadiere has slammed Arsenal’s ‘criminal’ decision to let Ramsey go.
He said on talkSPORT: “It pains me every time I get to the Emirates and I see lately how well he is performing, knowing he won’t be there next season.
“Having such a talent – and he is a team player – he will work for the team, he will do anything for the team before himself.
“He will see the benefit of the team.
“And just losing a player like this on a free, for me, is criminal.
“Arsenal has become a club which doesn’t attract too many top players because you just don’t really know what direction they are going in.
“Which, with Arsene Wenger for 22 years, was the same direction.
“These days, it’s like everybody is a bit in limbo – you don’t really know if they are going to be there next season or not which is difficult for everybody.”
Ramsey has impressed under Unai Emery this season, with the midfielder netting four goals and chipping in with seven assists in all competitions.
Arsenal are back in action after the international break, with the Gunners hosting Newcastle on Monday, April 1.
A win could send Emery’s men above Tottenham and into third in the Premier League.
