Liverpool have one advantage over Man City in Premier League title race - Emile Heskey
LIVERPOOL leading Manchester City heading into the international break is a big advantage in the Premier League title race.
That is according to former Liverpool and England centre-forward Emile Heskey.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently top of the table, two points clear of second-placed Manchester City.
City do have a game in hand though after their participation in the FA Cup over the weekend, where they beat Swansea 3-2 in the quarter-final.
But Heskey believes that gives Liverpool an advantage because City are playing catch up and have the pressure of needing to win their next Premier League game.
Manchester City have got to go into the next game knowing that they need to win that game
City visit Fulham on March 30 before Liverpool return to action a day later at home to Tottenham.
“Psychologically it's very important," Heskey said on Sky Sports.
"As you saw before, they were always having to chase Manchester City, they were always trying to stay ahead.
“Now they've got the upper hand.
"It's better to have the points in hand rather than having to go out there and fight for it.
"Manchester City have got to go into the next game knowing that they need to win that game, putting the pressure back on them and seeing how they fare with that pressure."
Liverpool are looking to win their first top-flight title in 29 years.
Heskey knows all about the pressure after spending four years as a player at Anfield.
And he says the current crop of players have the chance of going down as club greats.

"There's going to be an expectation - there's an expectation when you're at all big clubs," he added.
“”There's an expectation for all of them to actually go out there and be winning every week, and the players understand that; the players know that, the players are aware of that.
“That pressure brings the best out of you at times.
"It's a massive chance for them to be put down as legends. It's a great time for the club."
