Liverpool news: Tim Cahill singles out the TWO players he is most impressed with
EVERTON hero Tim Cahill singled out two Liverpool players that impressed him against Fulham on Sunday.
Liverpool were looking to return to the summit of the Premier League at Craven Cottage.
The Reds took the lead midway through the first half, with Sadio Mane netting his 11th goal in his last 11 games in all competitions.
But it was the Liverpool full-backs that received plenty of praise in the Sky Sports studio at half time.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and, especially, Andrew Robertson caused Fulham all sorts of problems in attacking areas.
The two defenders for me, Trent, right-back, and Robertson are causing all sorts
And Cahill mentioned them both during the interval.
“I think they’re moving the ball really quick,” Cahill said.
“You see Robertson, he’s positive, he’s forward, he’s doing everything with conviction.
“The two defenders for me, Trent, right-back, and Robertson are causing all sorts.
“And you see with the goal, Trent’s round the back there looking for it.
“To have a right-back and a left-back attacking like that, and they’re doubling up.”
Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp admits the two full-backs are difficult to play against.
But he was less than impressed with the defending from Fulham.
“It is a nightmare but that example there is perfect,” Redknapp said.
“If someone passes the ball, you have to follow the one-two.
“You can’t just expect that you’re not going to go with runners and he’s not gone with runners at all.”
