Arsenal ran out 2-0 winners over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side thanks to a first-half goal from Granit Xhaka and a second-half penalty from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gunners’ ninth home win in a row saw them leapfrog United into fourth place and breathe new life into their hopes of Champions League football.
The club’s social media team were seemingly over the moon with the result, so much so they took the time to aim a sly dig at their opponents.
Shortly after the win, the club tweeted a picture of Emery with a wry smile on his face.
The accompanying caption, which ended with a winking emoji, read: “Unai’s at the wheel.”
The tweet was in reference to the song Manchester United fans sing about their caretaker manager, which is named ‘Ole’s at the wheel’.
United had a slew of chances to take the lead in the first half but were wasteful in front of goal.
After the match, Solskjaer said: "We started slow, maybe a a backlash from Wednesday night.

"We created chances, that's the thing. We created so many more chances today than, for example, than when we beat them in the cup.
“We hit the woodwork, we had big chances - sometime strikers take them, sometimes they don't.
“We played a better game then but that doesn't help the result."
Arsenal are now a solitary point behind third-placed Tottenham following their bitter rivals’ shock defeat to Southampton on Saturday afternoon.
