Man United: Solskjaer confirms Molde contract was terminated
It was recently revealed the Liverpool defender was renting Solskjaer's house in Cheshire.
The Norwegian could not find a buyer when he moved his family back to Norway to take over as manager of Molde.
But he could now be looking for a permanent home in the area as he is almost certain to be named the new United boss after impressing in his role as stand-in.
Since taking over from Jose Mourinho in December, Solskjaer has won 14 of his 17 matches in charge.
He has been staying at the Lowry hotel since and was asked about the situation with Van Dijk in the build-up to United’s clash with Arsenal.
“Yeah, he's evicted,” Solskjaer joked.
Another win today would tighten his grip on the job but he remained coy when asked yet again if he expects to stay at Old Trafford long-term.
"I love managing these boys, I love working here,” he said.

“As I said so many times, I am just doing the best I can every single day, and if and when... if it comes to a decision to be made, we've got to think about that.
"I am not here to get excited, I am here to do my job. I am contracted to Man United until the end of June."
Solskajer, though, admits he has been preparing for a big job in management for years.
“I think I have prepared all my life for this [management],” he said.

“Ever since I was a kid, when I played computer games, I wrote out all the teams with my mates.
“They were good old times when I used to sign Zico, Maradona and Marco van Basten.
“I think I have secretly always wanted to do the job I am doing now.
“I probably believe more that I can be a football coach than a football player. It took me quite a few years to get to the level I wanted to be at as a player.”
