Man Utd will deal ‘psychological’ blow to Man City signing THIS star - Sky Sports pundit
MANCHESTER UNITED have been told to sign Jadon Sancho to deal a “psychological” blow to Manchester City.
English sensation Sancho has had a stunning first full campaign in the Borussia Dortmund first team.
The 18-year-old’s early season form earned him a call-up the senior England squad, where he has gone on to win three caps.
And now the winger has been linked with a mega-money move back to the Premier League with Manchester United.
Sancho initially left Manchester City in 2017 for just £8million.
If you’re a Manchester United fan looking at it, I think you would like that
However, reports now claim he could attract a fee as much as £100m.
Former Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason was discussing Sancho on Sky Sports’ The Debate programme.
Presenter Geoff Shreeves asked the pundit if it would be wise business from United to sell Alexis Sanchez and sign Sancho this summer.
“So if you’re Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, do you march into Ed Woodward’s office, as well as say ‘give me the job’ but you say ‘okay, Sanchez out, Sancho in’?,” Shreeves asked.
Mason says it would be a no-brainer to let Sanchez leave, with the Chilean struggling since his move from Arsenal in January 2018.
And he believes the arrival of Sancho would get one over rivals Manchester City because of his past with the club.
“That’s a difficult one,” Mason replied.
“If you’re a Manchester United fan looking at it, I think you would like that.
“Since Sanchez has made his move to Manchester United, it’s not worked out for whatever reason, I don’t know.
“But you’ve got a young kid that would fit the bill at Manchester United, the way he plays, the way he attacks and the way he’s free on the football pitch.
“Not only that, he’s been at Manchester City as well.
“So I think from a psychological point of view, to get that it would be a massive coup for the club.
“To go into the new season, to kind of lay down that marker that ‘we’re ready to challenge again’.”
