Alfredo Morelos dive: Miller slams Rangers star for costing Gerrard in Aberdeen clash
ALFRED MORELOS has been criticised for diving in the box during Rangers’ clash with Aberdeen today.
Rangers arrive for Scottish Cup clash against Aberdeen
Rangers headed to Pittodrie seeking to progress to the Scottish Cup semi-finals.
Aberdeen vs Rangers has been a feisty match-up this season with five red cards from their previous four games.
Morelos has twice seen red against the Dons and was booked early on in the game art Pittodrie today.
And the way he got booked left Willie Miller fuming.
Morelos received the ball in the Aberdeen penalty area and went down easily under a challenge.
The referee stopped play and booked the Rangers striker, who jogged away looking sheepish.
Miller, who played for Aberdeen for the entirety of his career, was not impressed with the incident.
“That must be so frustrating for Steven Gerrard,” he said on Sportsound.
He can't control himself
“It’s clear for anyone to see that Alfredo Morelos has taken a dive.
“He can't control himself, anything can happen now.”
Before the match, Morelos’ Rangers team-mate Connor Goldson praised the striker for his application since a pre-season training camp last summer.
"You wouldn't like to play against Alfredo,” he said.
"He's a pest for 90 minutes, he'll wear you down with his physicality and put himself about.
"He's been brilliant for us this season and it's all credit to him.
"From the boy I saw in Spain when I first arrived at the club to what he's turned into - he's a completely different player.
"That's down to how hard he's worked and it's paid off for him.
"He's the best player in the country now - his record speaks for itself.”
