Arsenal fans convinced Unai Emery was celebrating with Tottenham fans during derby
ARSENAL manager Unai Emery has been accused of singing along with Tottenham fans in the north London derby by a section of the club’s fans.
Emery’s side took the lead at Wembley when Aaron Ramsey rounded Hugo Loris and finished coolly.
However, the visitors were pegged back when Harry Kane netted from the penalty spot and replays showed Kane was offside when he was fouled to win the spot-kick.
Both sets of fans were in fine voice and it was an excellent atmosphere at Wembley.
And the way Sky Sports cameras panned to Emery gesticulating as the Spurs fans sang out made it look as though he was joining in.
It was almost certainly a coincidence but some supporters are convinced otherwise.
“Does unai Emery know what team he's managing?,” one said on Twitter.
“Looks like he’s joining in with the spurs fans.”
Another added: “Even Unai Emery is joining in on the Spurs chant!”
A third wondered: “Is that unai emery singing with the Tottenham fans?”
Emery’s side were the better team throughout and will be ruing their failure to secure three points after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang miss a penalty in the final minute.
The Spaniard, though hailed his players for an excellent performance.
"I am proud of the players and of their work. Then you can win, you can lose, or you can draw like we did,” he said.
"But above all, we played like a team, feeling together and pushing individually and collectively."
He continued: "We are fine in our way, being competitive and adapting our performance.
“It demanded a lot of transition for us and it is good, not the result because we can win, but we can be stronger in our mentality after this match going forward.
"We are thinking each match for three points, to continue in our way, our target is clear.
“We can be proud of everybody in our work. We showed everybody we are creating and doing it our way."
