Fantasy Premier League tips: Last-minute transfers, bargains, captain picks for FPL GW29
FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE managers have some tough choices to make ahead of the GW29 deadline.
Fantasy Football bosses are running out of time to organise their squads ahead of this morning’s 11.30am transfer deadline.
The early kick-off in the north London derby means Fantasy Premier League managers are in danger of missing out on making their changes ahead of this weekend’s action.
And it would be a bad gameweek to miss with Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea stars all backed to bring in big points hauls.
There are also some tempting differentials available in the Brighton and Wolves squads – but who are you going to sign or sell ahead of GW29?
Top FPL transfer tips
DEF: Pablo Zabaleta (West Ham United) – £4.3m
West Ham embark on a run of fixtures that sees them take on Newcastle, Cardiff, Huddersfield and Everton in the next four gameweeks.
Three of those matches are at the London Stadium and Zabaleta is a cheap way into the Hammers rearguard which is long overdue a clean sheet or two.
MID: Pedro (Chelsea) – £6.3m
The Spaniard bagged his eighth goal of the campaign against Tottenham last time out and face a Fulham side in disarray this weekend.
Pedro bagged 11 points against the Cottagers in the reverse fixture and more are expected on Sunday.
FWD: Glenn Murray (Brighton & Hove Albion) – £6.3m
Murray is prolific at the Amex and will be backed to score against a leaky Huddersfield defence this weekend.
The veteran is only owned by 2.7 per cent of managers and stands out as an excellent differential.
In-form FPL players
MID: Sadio Mane (Liverpool – £9.7m) – 8.2 form
The Senegalese flier was played through the middle against Watford and helped himself to two goals in the 5-0 win.
Mane now has 14 for the season – just three behind Mohamed Salah.
MID: Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Arsenal – £6.8m) – 8.3 form
Mkhitaryan has two goals and three assists in his past two matches and has looked lethal since his return from injury.
However, Tottenham pose a tougher test than home matches against Southampton and Bournemouth.
FWD: Sergio Aguero (Manchester City – £11.7m) – 11.3 form
No match in gameweek 27 didn’t halt Aguero’s charge with the Argentine scoring the winner against West Ham on Wednesday.
Aguero has eight goals in his last five and has taken his tally to 18.
Best-value FPL bargains
MID: Henrik Mkhitaryan (Arsenal – £6.8m) – 1.2 value
The Armenian is still relatively cheap compared to his midfield rivals, although that is sure to change as FPL gaffers get on the bandwagon.
MID: Isaac Hayden (Newcastle United – £4.4m) – 1.3 value
Hayden has started every match since GW19 and three clean sheet points as well as a goal and assist in his past three matches.
DEF: Fabian Schar (Newcastle United – £4.7m) - 1.4 value
Like Hayden, Schar has been providing attacking returns during Newcastle’s recent run of form and is still affordable at just £4.7m.

Who should I captain in FPL GW29?
Paul Pogba (Manchester United) vs Southampton (H)
The most popular FPL player, Pogba has been excellent since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over at Old Trafford and should be a dominant force against Southampton.
Eden Hazard (Chelsea) vs Fulham (A)
Hazard was substituted before the hour against Tottenham but will have benefitted from the rest and could earn a huge haul against a woeful Fulham outfit.
TOP CHOICE: Raheem Sterling (Manchester City) vs Bournemouth (A)
With Sergio Aguero at risk of rotation, Sterling looks most likely to profit and could be deployed through the middle when City take on Bournemouth.
The winger has scored eight goals in his past six meetings with the Cherries and is likely to add to that tally.
