Liverpool: Xherdan Shaqiri has been ‘excellent’ says pundit
Liverpool star Shaqiri spent two years at Bundesliga side Bayern Munich earlier in his career, long before his move to Anfield.
Despite often being stuck behind Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben in the pecking order over at the Allianz Arena, the Switzerland international was a popular figure at the club.
Shaqiri could feature when Liverpool face Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
And, amid his struggles to nail down a regular place in Jurgen Klopp’s team, Shaqiri has admitted he would one day like to return.
"I have positive memories of Munich,” he told Sport1.
“The best time of my career so far was at Bayern. I learnt a lot and gained many friends.
“Every time I come back to Munich I feel at home.
“A return one day is totally imaginable because I always carry Bayern in my heart.”
Shaqiri also admitted that, when the Champions League draw was made, he was hoping that Liverpool would face Bayern.

"I was very happy,” he said.
“Because I wanted to play against Bayern Munich, against my old team-mates and my old team.
"It was an amazing time (at Bayern).
“We won a lot of titles, we won the Champions League. We had the best team Bayern Munich had.
"It was an amazing feeling to win so many trophies.
