Barcelona should sign player that ‘will upset all Liverpool fans’ - ESPN pundit
LIVERPOOL star Roberto Firmino would be the perfect striker for Barcelona.
Barcelona should sign Roberto Firmino claims Paul Mariner
That is according to ESPN FC pundit and former Arsenal forward Paul Mariner.
Firmino has scored just nine goals in 26 Premier League appearances so far this season.
However, he has provided four assists and Mariner believes his link-up play would suit Barcelona.
Mariner was asked who Barca should look to sign as their next centre-forward.
Firmino for me does it all. He’s tremendous
And he put forward the Brazil star, admitting it would be a blow for Liverpool fans to lose him.
“The way that they play, Firmino,” Mariner said.
“I know it will upset all the Liverpool fans.
“Look at what he does, look at the link ups. He’s fantastic.
“Firmino for me does it all. He’s tremendous.”
Mariner’s colleague Alejandro Moreno was asked if Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi would suit Barcelona, with the Argentine set to leave in the summer.
But Moreno instead suggested Tottenham and England star Harry Kane.
“You don’t want Icardi,” he said.
“The reason you don’t want Icardi is because of this mess that he’s in.
“Harry Kane.”
Kane has 14 goals in 22 Premier League appearances this season.
He is closing in on a return from the ankle injury he suffered in January.
