PSG are concerned about these three Man Utd players for Champions League clash - Laurens
PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN are concerned about three Manchester United players heading into the Champions League clash at Old Trafford.
That is according to ESPN FC pundit and French football expert Julien Laurens.
PSG face Manchester United in the first leg of the last 16 clash on Tuesday evening.
The visitors are without several key players due to injury, including Neymar and Edinson Cavani.
They remain favourites to go through to the quarter-finals despite United’s resurgence under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
I think it’s the relationship between Paul Pogba and his front three. Especially his relationship with Martial and Rashford
United have won 10 of their 11 matches under Solskjaer and their attacking play has caught the eye of many.
Laurens says midfielder Paul Pogba is one player PSG are worried about.
And he claims the relationship Pogba has with forwards Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial is vital to the outcome of the first leg.
Laurens was asked by presenter Dan Thomas: “What concerns PSG the most about this Manchester United team?”
The journalist replied: “I think it’s the relationship between Paul Pogba and his front three.
“Especially his relationship with Martial and Rashford.
“We saw that in the game against Leicester, for example, where Pogba found Rashford so easily with a ball in behind.
“I think that will be the main focus for PSG.
“Trying to stop that relationship Pogba has with his front three.
“If you cut Pogba out of the game and you cut that relationship between him and the front three, then I think you’d be close to at least not losing the game.”
United have a near fully fit squad to pick from, with Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian the only players missing due to injury.
Victor Lindelof trained on Monday and is set to return to the squad after missing the victory over Fulham on Saturday.
Ashley Young is also set to return at right-back.
The return leg at the Parc des Princes is on March 6.
