‘Greatest goal in the history of world football’ - Arsenal fan Piers Morgan's shock claim
PIERS MORGAN has described a goal in Germany’s second tier as the “greatest goal in the history of world football”.
Holstein Kiel: Janni Luca Serra scores INSANE goal
Holstein Kiel netted in the opening five minutes against FC Magdeburg following a wonderful team goal.
Having picked up the ball on the halfway line, they made 12 passes, going back to the goalkeeper.
It was then lofted forward before more neat play ended with Janni Luca Serra tapping home.
And Arsenal fan Piers Morgan was quick to praise the move.
He posted on social media: “Greatest goal in the history of world football.”
But not everyone agreed with the outspoken TV presenter and journalist.
One replied: “Terrible shout.”
While another added: “Oooo dunno about that piers.”
One fan posted: “U are joking right?”
And a fourth commented: “Probably at least 50 that are better.”
Fans were quick to give suggestions of better goals too.
One wrote: “Nothing beats Maradona’s second versus England mate!”
And a second posted: “Mick Channon Southampton v Liverpool 81/82 is the greatest goal in history.”
There were a number of fans replying with GIFs of Dennis Bergkamp’s famous goal against Newcastle in 2002 while one suggested Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s memorable overhead kick against England.
