Man Utd news: Gary Neville singles out one change from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
MANCHESTER UNITED legend Gary Neville has singled out the biggest change Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made at the club.
Solskjaer made it 10 wins from 11 games in interim charge of Manchester United on Saturday with victory over Fulham.
Two goals from Paul Pogba and one from Anthony Martial sealed a comfortable win at Craven Cottage.
The Red Devils are now fourth in the Premier League table, a point ahead of Chelsea who play Manchester City on Sunday.
Neville says Solskjaer has brought happiness back to the United squad since being appointed in December.
The biggest thing has been introducing the pace back into the team
A number of players fell out with Jose Mourinho before he was sacked following the loss at Liverpool almost two months ago.
But Neville claims the most important thing was to bring pace back into the United side.
He says that was something United had been without for a period of time.
“I think initially it was just getting the players happy,” Gary Neville said on Sky Sports.
“Obviously the players, some of them had fallen out with the previous manager.
“I think he [Solskjaer] was just bringing the club together and uniting the club with the fans.
“I think the biggest thing that he’s done on the pitch has been to introduce, I think in midfield they’ve passed forward a lot quicker, but the biggest thing has been introducing the pace back into the team.
“Manchester United to be fair had lost their [ability to] counter attack.
“And with [Marcus] Rashford, [Jesse] Lingard, Martial being prominent, particularly Rashford up front, to me I think that has been the biggest thing.
“The results are beyond any Man United fans’ wildest dreams and probably beyond Ole’s wildest dreams.”
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will lead United for the first time in the Champions League on Tuesday.
United face Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their last-16 tie.
