Chelsea or Arsenal could finish SEVENTH in the Premier League - Paul Ince makes huge claim
WOLVES could end the Premier League season in sixth place in the table above either Chelsea or Arsenal.
That is according to BT Sport pundit and former Wolves midfielder Paul Ince.
Seventh-placed Wolves beat Everton 3-1 at Goodison Park on Saturday to open up a four-point gap on Watford in eighth.
They are still seven points behind Manchester United in sixth with the Red Devils playing their game in hand against Leicester on Sunday.
Arsenal are a further two points ahead in fifth and Chelsea are three clear of the Gunners in fourth.
I’m going to put my neck out here alright. They could get sixth you know
With Wolves 3-1 ahead against Everton, Ince was asked by BT Sport Score presenter Jules Breach: “After what you’ve seen today, are Wolves the seventh best team in the Premier League?”
And Ince insists it is not impossible for his former side to break into the top six in place of Arsenal or Chelsea.
“I’m going to put my neck out here alright,” he replied.
“They could get sixth you know. I’m just saying, if they win today, it puts them on 38 points.
“[They could finish above] Arsenal or Chelsea, but I’m just saying.
“They’re on 38 points, they’ve competed with and beaten most of the top six.
“So who can say they can’t finish sixth in the table?
“I’m just putting it out there, I’m just putting it out there.”
Former Celtic and Chelsea striker Chris Sutton was not convinced with Ince’s claim though.
“It’s a ridiculous comment,” Sutton said.
“Most of us on this couch [disagree].”
Chelsea beat Huddersfield 5-0 on Saturday, with Arsenal visiting Manchester City on Sunday (4.30pm).
