Chelsea transfer news: Eden Hazard to Real Madrid update provided by Guillem Balague
CHELSEA star Eden Hazard is waiting for Real Madrid to open negotiations in order to push a switch to the Bernabeu.
That’s according to transfer expert Guillem Balague.
Hazard has made no secret of his dream to play for Real Madrid and has stalled on contract negotiations at Stamford Bridge.
But there is no indication of any deal for the 28-year-old happening before the transfer deadline passes on Thursday.
He said on the Guillem Balague Transfer Show: “If Eden Hazard was absolutely focused at Chelsea because you think you’re going to be there for 10 years I think we’d see more consistent form from Hazard.
“And more respect towards the manager in terms of what he does on the pitch.
“Hazard is his own man, Sarri wants him to do a certain job so they’re both not finding common ground right now but Hazard - if he thinks he’s going to be there 10 years - will listen and perhaps apply that to his football.
“I think he is obviously waiting for Real Madrid to start negotiations with Chelsea.
“Real Madrid need to recycle, they actually are putting a lot of effort into developing some young players… but that is just something that has to go side by side with signing superstars.”
Chelsea: Football expert puts price on Eden Hazard
Hazard reiterated his desire to play for Real Madrid earlier this month.
He said: “Would I like to sign for Real Madrid? Why not?
“I have never heard from (former manager Zinedine) Zidane and if he goes to Manchester United tomorrow, for example, I would not be there.
“Real Madrid without Zidane is different, but it is still Real Madrid.
“I’ve won everything in England, except the Community Shield, but that doesn't mean I'm going to leave.
“I’ve always said that I want to try something different after England, but there are things that might make me stay.”
Chelsea return to action tomorrow against Bournemouth in the Premier League (7.45pm).
The Blues are currently fourth and on course to qualify for the Champions League ahead of Arsenal and Manchester United.
