Chelsea transfer news: Maurizio Sarri has made wrong decision with two stars - Ruud Gullit
CHELSEA boss Maurizio Sarri made a mistake signing Jorginho - as he already had one of the best holding-midfield players at the club.
Chelsea: Sarri must leave Jorginho out of some games says Gray
That is according to former Chelsea midfielder and manager Ruud Gullit.
Jorginho joined the Blues last summer from Napoli, following Sarri to west London.
He has slotted straight into the middle of midfield, starting every game in the Premier League so far this season.
N’Golo Kante has been moved out of his favoured central role which Gullit believes is a big error.
I think he made a mistake I think with Kante and with Jorginho
The Dutch legend says there are not many goalscoring options from midfield which puts more pressure on the likes of Eden Hazard.
“I think they started really well,” Gullit said of Chelsea on BBC One.
“Everybody was really happy about the Sarri movement and how they played.
“I think he made a mistake I think with Kante and with Jorginho.
“I think he had already a holding midfielder.
“Now he puts his best holding midfielder, who won the World Cup, he puts him on the right side.
“He’s not a goalscorer and I think they don’t have enough players who can score from midfield.
“[Frank] Lampard was the best example of a player who could score goals.
Chelsea: Sarri makes Kante look 'ordinary' in team says Keown
“You cannot always rely on one player, on Hazard, and I think that is happening at the moment.
“And also in the moment that Hazard wasn’t in a good shape, they were struggling. So that’s dangerous.”
Jorginho started on the bench in Chelsea's FA Cup fourth round clash against Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday.
