Phil Neville reveals Ole Gunnar Solskjaer secret from inside Man Utd dressing room
OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has a secret “ruthless side” that he used to show in the dressing room.
That is according to his former Manchester United team-mate Phil Neville.
Solskjaer has enjoyed a strong start to his management career at Manchester United.
The Norwegian was a club legend before his was appointed boss after winning the Treble with the Red Devils in 1999.
Neville was part of that team too and the former defender has been full praise for Solskjaer since his return to Old Trafford.
Even as a player, he was a coach
And Neville revealed how Solskjaer acted inside the United dressing room as a player.
“Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has got a ruthless side,” Neville said on the BBC.
“He used to sit two down from me in the dressing room.
“Even as a player, he was a coach.
“He'd coach when he was on the bench and look at analysis.
“How he could change games when he came on showed his ability.”
Solskjaer is not guaranteed the United job at the end of the season, with an agreement in place that he returns to Molde.
However, the Red Devils may offer him the permanent position - ahead of candidates Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane.
And Neville would gladly see the former striker in the United dugout full time.
“If he keeps winning, I think he'll end up with the job,” Neville added.
“Jose Mourinho and Louis van Gaal had great success [before] but didn't know Manchester United.
“Solskjaer knows what to say to the media and players. He knows the fabric of the club.”
