Ole Gunnar Solskjaer poses for late-night snap and gets surprise present from Man Utd fan
OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER showed his class as the Manchester United manager experienced a heartwarming encounter with a fan outside the Lowry hotel last night.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reinforced his reputation as a Manchester United hero and all-round good guy when he bumped into a fan outside the Lowry hotel late yesterday evening.
The Red Devils boss was snapped returning to the city centre hotel at 9.30pm when he was stopped by a supporter who had been waiting patiently for the Norwegian.
Solskjaer immediately came over for a quick chat, with the fan having braved freezing conditions for a glimpse of the Old Trafford gaffer.
The 45-year-old then received a lovely surprise when the supporter handed him a bag from Patisserie Valerie, a well-known cafe specialising in cakes.
Solskjaer was pictured grinning as he looked inside, suggesting the United manager had been handed a late-night snack, before posing for a selfie.
Solskjaer is currently only interim boss at the club, having taken over from Jose Mourinho after the Red Devils' worst-ever start to a Premier League season.
However, the former United striker has overseen seven straight victories during his time in charge and has suggested he would like the job permanently.
Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward was yesterday seen arriving at the Carrington training ground, sparking rumours contract talks between him and Solskjaer could be taking place.
And former United midfielder Darren Fletcher has backed Solskajer to get the position full-time, saying: “I would love to see it.
"He's a Manchester United man he's got the club DNA in him – He's a massive player in Manchester United's history.
"You see him bringing Alex Ferguson back into the fold. It's amazing what he's done.
"I just hope he continues it for the rest of the season and the bandwagon builds and he gets the Manchester United job."
