What they’re going to end up doing is loaning him somewhere and contributing £200,000 to his wages, which is not very good business
Tim Sherwood on Arsenal star Mesut Ozil
The 30-year-old was an unused substitute in the 2-0 win over Chelsea on Saturday.
Sherwood reckons it would be best for Emery to get Ozil back in his team and believes the board would prefer that.
However, he can instead see Ozil heading out on loan this month.
It could be one of three major loans Arsenal complete in the January window, with Barcelona’s Denis Suarez and Bayern Munich’s James Rodriguez targeted in temporary deals by Emery.

Arsenal transfer news: Mesut Ozil has not played since Boxing Day (Image: GETTY)
“I think he needs to get Ozil back on side,” Sherwood said on Sky Sports.
“I know a lot of people would give him credit for leaving him out because he’s not doing it on the pitch and it looks good in the dressing room to the other players.
“But it doesn’t look good to the boardroom.
“The boardroom are going to be saying ‘we’re paying him £350,000-a-week, you need to get something out of him’ because it’s going to be very difficult to get rid of him.
