Liverpool star SLAMMED by Harry Redknapp for Crystal Palace error... 'it's a big problem'
JAMES MILNER was harshly criticised for the role he played in Crystal Palace’s opener at Anfield.
Liverpool: Klopp says there will ‘PROBABLY’ be no transfers
The utility man was filling in at right-back for Jurgen Klopp in the absence of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
When Wilfried Zaha swapped over to his flank though, the job on Milner’s hands became a lot tougher.
The Ivorian used his electric pace to glide past the former Manchester City man, leaving him behind.
His cut-back was then met by the left boot of Andros Townsend who finished brilliantly to put the Eagles ahead.
Former Red Robbie Fowler was quick to praise the work of Zaha.
“It's great play by Zaha. He has switched sides and been on Robertson but now he's come on the left to Milner,” he told BT Sport.
“He goes inside of him, pulls a good ball back but it's a great goal - although you'd expect him to score.”
Harry Redknapp though, blasted stand-in defender Milner.
“Zaha has walked past Milner, he's absolutely walked past him,” he said.
“It's a big problem at right-back.
“It's so easy wasn't it Robbie, he's absolutely left him for dead.”
Fowler responded: “It was and we were saying before, but he keeps switching sides.
“Before he went at Robertson and pulled a good ball back as well and created a half-chance.”
Liverpool will be hoping to welcome back Alexander-Arnold to the starting line up for the visit of Leicester which is in eleven days time.
Klopp confirmed in his press conference on Friday that the youngster will be judged on a day-by-day basis after initially being diagnosed as a one month lay-off.
