Man Utd transfer news: Defender reveals all on Old Trafford exit - ‘It was a no brainer’
MANCHESTER UNITED defender Regan Poole has completed a loan move to Newport County until the end of the season.
And the centre-back has revealed it was a ‘no brainer’ to make the switch when the offer was tabled.
Poole is highly rated at Old Trafford and has captained the Under 23 side on several occasions this season.
Poole previously made the move from Newport to Manchester United back in 2015.
“I’m really happy to be back,” the 20-year-old said.
“As soon as I knew the club wanted me back on loan, it was a no brainer really.
“I feel like Newport County AFC can get promoted this season and I’m here to try and help them achieve that.”
Newport manager Michael Flynn also gave his verdict on the deal.
Flynn said: “I’m delighted to have signed Regan Poole.
Man Utd: Sheringham says Solskjaer ‘obviously wants the job’
“He is a player I know well having brought him through the Academy ranks during my time as Academy Manager, I knew then of the tremendous qualities Regan has to offer.
“These will be invaluable to the team in the second half of the season.
“It’s a positive for the club that we have been able to sign a player from Manchester United.”
Poole has made 14 appearances for the United U23 this side but will now look to impress in League Two.
