Man Utd news: Solskjaer reveals the one thing his side CAN’T let Tottenham do today
OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has revealed he’s wary of his Manchester United side being exposed on the counterattack by Tottenham today.
Solskjaer’s troops face third-placed Spurs later this afternoon at Wembley.
United go into the match on the back of a stellar run under their caretaker manager, in which they’ve won all five of their last five games.
Barring a 3-1 defeat to Wolves, Spurs have also been imperious form, scoring a staggering 23 goals in their last six matches.
A large portion of those goals have come after they’ve absorbed pressure and broken quickly on the counterattack.
You can’t let these counterattack on us.
Solskjaer is well aware of how deadly the north Londoners have been on the break this season and is determined for his side not to fall victim to their counters.
“Of course, we want to see progress from the last four of five games,” he told MUTV when asked what he wants to se from the Red Devils today.
“We want to see a team that defends well because we’re playing against a very good attacking team. We want to see that when we win the ball we go forward quickly, attack quickly.
“We’ve got pace up front with Jesse [Lingard] with Marcus [Rashford], with Anthony [Martial]; Paul [Pogba] to join in. And then have the balance in behind because you can’t let these counterattack on us.”
