His latest omission has cast more doubt over his future at the Emirates and further fuelled speculation of a rift between himself and Emery.
Emery shed some light on the 30-year-old’s absence in the post-match press conference and revealed that he didn’t think the creative midfielder’s talents would’ve helped his side at the London Stadium.
“I decided the players who are the best for this match,” he said when asked why Ozil didn’t play today. “We win with him and lose with him.”
Ozil has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Arsenal in recent months, with several reports claiming he’s unhappy at the club.
Emery is well aware of the speculation surrounding the future of Arsenal’s former record signing but has insisted neither he or any of his team-mates are up for sale this month.
He added: “Not one player is for sale.”
When pressed for an update on Ozil’s fitness, the Spaniard said: “He’s working this week normally.

“Like I said we win with him and lose with him. Today the decision is to come with these players.”
Arsenal were handed their second defeat in their last three league matches courtesy of an early second-half goal from Declan Rice.
The north Londoners are currently three points off fourth-placed Chelsea, though the Blues do have a game in hand on their city rivals.
Emery was bitterly disappointed with the result and believes his troops deserved to leave the London Stadium with at least a point.

“I think the result is bad,” he said. “We lost a great opportunity to take three points. We wanted to do a better match. Looking at thechancesin the match from them and us I think maybe the result is not what we deserved.
We didn’t concede a lot of chances but we conceded metres on the pitch and these metres took a lot of corners.
“They scored from the corner and then the match changed. We created some chances but it isn’t enough.”
Arsenal will be back in action next Saturday, welcoming Chelsea to the Emirates in a clash which could decide who clinches the much-coveted fourth-place spot.
