What Chelsea fans DON'T want to hear about Gonzalo Higuain transfer... this is worrying
SKY SPORTS reporter Kaveh Solhekol has delivered a verdict on Chelsea that will worry every Stamford Bridge fan.
Higuain's brother and agent Nicolas had talks with Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri this week in London.
Sarri wants to bring the 31-year-old Argentina striker - currently on loan at AC Milan from Juventus - to Stamford Bridge to solve his striker crisis.
And there is the possibility that unhappy Spain forward Alvaro Morata could go the other way in an exchange deal.
But Solhekol has warned Chelsea fans the move may not be all as it seems - because Higuain is flopping on the ptich.
"He's 31 and not playing particularly well for AC Milan at the moment," Solhekol warned.
Higuain is unhappy at Milan, where his loan has gone sour, and wants the move to Stamford Bridge after falling out with sporting director Leonardo.
The striker previously worked with Sarri at Napoli, where he enjoyed the best season of his career in 2015-16 and scored 35 goals in 36 games.
It's now in the hands of the Chelsea hierarchy to try and thrash out an agreement.
"The structure at Chelsea is Maurizio Sarri is the head coach. He's not the one in charge of the transfers, that's all done by Marina Granovskaia," Solhekol explained.
"She's basically the representative of Roman Abramovich at Chelsea.
"What she says, what she thinks and what she decides is really important. Sarri has input and we know his input at the moment is he needs a new striker and the striker he likes, of course, is Gonzalo Higuain.
"The problem Chelsea have got is the fact he's very, very expensive. He's over 30, he's on big, big money.
"They have to factor in all those issues and work out whether to back Maurizio Sarri and sign Higuain because it will be expensive."
