Real Madrid boss Santiago Solari has played down fears about the strain that meant Bale had to be withdrawn during the draw against Villarreal.
"We think the injury is not too serious," said Solari.
"He will go through tests today and we all hope he is back with us quickly."
Madrid face Real Sociedad on Sunday and will have to do so without their second-top scorer.

Solari insisted that Madrid have enough talent to cope with the absence, with Isco expected to be brought back in the starting 11.
"Isco is so good he can play wherever, in any position on the pitch," Solari said.
"Sometimes it´s not all about speed. You can be effective with your creativity, imagination and technical ability. Every player has different characteristics."
Los Blancos currently sit fourth in La Liga, seven points behind leaders Barcelona.
