Arsenal fans will LOVE what David Seaman said about Tottenham's title challenge
ARSENAL legend David Seaman trolled north London rivals Tottenham when asked how he’d feel if they won the league.
Seaman donned Gunners threads for 13 years, winning three league titles with the club.
The former goalkeeper suffered just six defeats to Spurs during that long-term stint, and the animosity towards the Lilywhites remains.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men have overtaken Arsenal as north London’s most formidable team in recent years, finishing above them for two successive seasons.
A run of six wins in seven has put Spurs into the title race, as they currently sit six points off table-toppers Liverpool, who have a game in hand.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are undergoing a transition season with Unai Emery.
The Spaniard succeeded Arsene Wenger, who held the post for 22 years, in the summer and has largely proved a success.
The Gunners are in touch with fourth-place Chelsea and have adapted well to Emery’s demanding, high octane style.
The slick-haired 47-year-old’s best result so far came against Tottenham in the north London derby, which Arsenal won 4-2.
The victory gave the Emirates faithful bragging rights over their rivals as well as a superior point tally, but that evaporated the next matchday when Arsenal drew to Manchester United.
Since then, Spurs have unknowingly made themselves title challengers by default of leapfrogging Manchester City.
Jokes aplenty came when they lost to Wolves 3-1 at home the matchday after joining the race, however.
The thought of Spurs winning the league - which last occurred in 1961 - still seems distant, and Seaman made out as much when probed on the prospect.
When Seaman was asked on talkSPORT how he’d feel if Tottenham won the league, he replied: “I don't know because I've never seen it happen."
